Bonsai
Bonsai is considered a Japanese art of plants in a pot. It was thought to have been adopted by the Japanese from China thousand years ago. Japan had developed the art of Bonsai into several styles such as those with twisted or carved trunk to make the plant or tree look mature or aged.
The art of bonsai is now widely known in Asia even in western countries. Most countries have their own Bonsai organization such those in Japan, Thailand and even the Bonsai Club of the Philippines. Several cities in the Philippines also have Bonsai Artist who organized themselves in order to showcase their master pieces. There is I believe Bonsai clubs in Manila, Cebu, Davao, and even in my hometown.
My father was also an enthusiast of this art. He even was one of the persons who organized the Bonsai Club in my city. I watch my father started his bonsai hobby a years ago. As i observed, it took him time, patience, hard work and determination to finally achieve the kind or the style of Bonsai he wanted the plant would be.
It took years to form a desired image of his plants. He waited for it to first, grow roots to support its growth. Second, to grow branches and form them in an orderly or sophisticated manner. Then the leaves to be smaller so as to create proportion with the trunk and the branches of the plant. Lastly to nourish it and form it to be pleasing to his eyes.
I would like to showcase some of my fathers Bonsai in the pictures below. Feel free to post your comments as it will be appreciated and recognized.
